「御社が被られた不便さを申し訳なく存じます」敢えて意訳すれば「ご不便をお掛けして申し訳御座いません」なる英文の the inconvenienceを修飾する形容詞節は、

　　1.the inconvenience you have been put to

　　2.the inconvenience to which you have been put

　　3.the inconvenience which you have been put to

と、考えれば、1.the inconvenience you have been put to は、2.the inconvenience to which you have been put が、

3.the inconvenience which you have been put to となり、そこから文末の前置詞 to の目的語である which が

省略され、1.the inconvenience you have been put to となり、

　We are sorry for the inconvenience you have been put to. なる、英文が現れたと考える事ができます。

此処で話をもう少し進めて、受動態 you have been put to の能動態の主語を we とすれば、we have put you to となり、英文全体は、

　We are sorry for the inconvenience we have put you to.となりますが、We（当方）としては其の様なご迷惑を

意図して、御社に掛けている訳ではないので、従属節の能動態を敢えて受動態（状態を表す）として、

　We are sorry for the inconvenience you have been put to.

と、していることが考えられます。
