Oxford で related を調べますと：

income-related benefits の例示が在りますが、relating に就いての独立した見出しはなく、relate を引くと：

そして、 [no obj.] (relate to) have reference to; concern: なる記述が続き、さらに： ・Kelly said there were a number of issues relating to the development that concerned her. と、記載されています。Collins 、Longman等にも明瞭な説明は見当たらないようです。 三省堂のCollege Crown で、related と relating to を引くと： related 1～と関係のある（connected）、関係している; ～ papers 関連書類; ～facts 関連した事実、2親類の、縁続きの; ～languages 同族語; ～subjects 関連科目 relating to … ～に関する、に関して: the papers relating to the affair との記述があるのみです。

　　さて、これら資料よりrelateは、自動詞としてはhave reference to（関係する）を意味し、他動詞としては make connection between（関係させる）の意味をもつ事が分かります。

　　その他の辞書等も調べましたが、related to ～、relating to ～に関する明瞭な解説は見当たりませんでした。よくあることなのですが、これら事象は英語人にとっては言語運用上さしたる問題でもなく、従って此の程度の説明に留まるのかもしれません。 　　次回ブログでは、別の角度から relating to, related to を考えてみようと思います。
